The Great Big Green Harvest Festival
Sunday 26 September 2021
We took part in The Great Big Green Week, with a Climate Sunday and Harvest Service, followed by an afternoon of activities and stalls from local eco groups.
There were climate themed games and crafts, homegrown produce and homemade cakes, ethical and eco items from Just Fair Trade, EkoJoe's mobile zero waste shop, Leicester Cloth Nappy Library, the city council's recycling team, local eco groups, ideas for meat free cooking...and more! Folk were also invited to bring your own picnic and help us plant a tree in the church garden.
Donations were raised for the Christian Aid Harvest Appeal, which this year is supporting women in Malawi who are facing the effects of climate change - you can find out more or give online here.
We also collected food for our charity of the year The Zinthiya Trust, a local charity which provides information and advice as well as practical support to alleviate poverty and abuse in Leicester and Leicestershire - you can find out what they most need here.
